Every text in this library comes from a single electronic edition: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, ebook 100, published by Project Gutenberg. The source ebook does not identify a single underlying print edition or editor. We do not attribute it to a different edition.
What we preserve
We import the available corpus in source order, with the original wording, verse line breaks, speaker labels, stage directions, and front matter. Stable identifiers connect each work, source section, speech, and line. Section boundaries follow the actual source, including prologues, inductions, epilogues, and poems.
Speaker assignments come from the source’s explicit labels. Combined labels remain combined roles. An unlabelled passage stays unassigned; we do not invent a speaker, fill a missing passage, or silently supplement this edition with another one.

Public domain and reuse

Research links, without a copied database
Where a corresponding work is available, each script links to Open Source Shakespeare for further research. Its database and related materials have noncommercial restrictions. We have not copied that database or assumed that combining free rehearsal with paid AI satisfies those terms. The rehearsal library is independently hosted from the ebook source described above.

Audio and progress are stored in the current browser on the current site; they are not automatically synchronized across devices or domains. Download recordings before clearing browser data.
